well, lets see....If you don't mind living somewhere that is almost lawless, if you don't mind music blasting out of passing cars and shaking your house like an earthquake 24/7.. if you like to see people selling and doing drugs right in your front yard and the cops telling you they can't do a thing about it because its not a "priority" such as a murder, (or a domestic dispute), if you like to hear the newcomers- liberals- saying that Vallejo is such a desirable place to live and criticizing the Vallejo newspaper for the "Negative headlines" they put instead of "positive things people are doing" like painting butterflies or rainbows on slabs of concrete or walls... oh yes and of course if you don't mind there not being a police phone number to call (except for 911) and then being talked down to when you do call by the dispatchers, then YES! Vallejo is for you ! have fun ! go rob a bank if you'd like! you wont get caught.

what I think some of you are not 'getting' is the fact that Oakland is about four times bigger in size and population than Vallejo. So given the demographics and numbers, Vallejo is comparible to Oakland and even the code enforcement officer has admitted to that, she actually compared the city of Vallejo to east Oakland. If you figure O. has aprx.500,000 and 100 homicides a year and V. has aprx.100,000 and 16 homicides a year (base #s not exact) then we are almost equal, except for the fact that Vallejo has no appeal.

My daughter-in-law recently bought a lovely Victorian in Vallejo, and, while it's fun to visit, I don't want to live there. Few cultural amenities, no night life. You can get to the City by ferry - a fun trip.

Crockett, right across the bridge, is a nice little town, the home of C & H Sugar, art galleries and nice homes up on the hills overlooking the Carquinez Straits - bargain homes too

Good luck!.

Vallejo's West side is not as bad as Oakland, that is the truth. But it's still very, bad. The Crest is not a place you want to go around wearing 'colors'.

There are no color gangs in the bay area like LA except the Latino Norteno and Sureno Gangs. Other than that the Crestside of Vallejo aka North Vallejo has gangs but they are drug/turf related not color related. Stop spreading false information.

Although Oakland is full of gangs, the Nortenos and Surenos aren't the only gangs in the Bay Area.

Of course you would know that Uptown Oak... err "The Land."

There are "Bloods" in the Crest that wear red. I've seen them walking in the Crest near I80 during my real estate deals there. If you wear blue in those hoods, you will get hassled.

These are all lies, there are no bloods or crips in Vallejo, and there are no bloods and crips in Oakland. I never said the only gang in the bay area are Nortenos and Surenos, I said they are the only COLOR based gangs. You've never been to those' Hoods' in your life. If you have, you'd know that, Eastbaydefect eeerrrr NewTOCA eerrr Mr. Trashtastic.
