Default Is summer over??

Hey all - Just moved here from NY. I was told September is a pretty good month and I was hoping to catch some of the famous Seattle summer, but it certainly didn't seem very summery today, and the forecast doesn't look much better. Did I miss it? Are Septembers usually pretty nice in Seattle?

Thanks!

Last September we had the only days all year when it hit 90. We'll have hot sunny days in September. Maybe not the whole month, but we should have at least a couple of weeks of mostly sunny days.

Was this a typical summer in Seattle? It seems like we have had about 30 or so days over 80 this year and many of those over 85. I'm with you Ira, I don't like it much over 75. 65-73 is about my sweet spot

The historical charts for Seattle on weather.com show the average in July & Aug to be 76 (ave day time high)/59 (ave night time low). June is 71/53, so it should be a bit cooler. Sounds perfect to me

The Weather should clear up but this definitely isn't typical. Enjoyed a break from the sunlight though!

Latest data suggests a continuation of unsettled conditions with periodic light showers throughout the week. However, Labor Day weekend looks better and next Monday will likely see mostly sunny with seasonable temperatures. FYI: There is a weather thread on here that you can address these questions. There are a few like myself that monitors this frequently.

The leaves are starting to turn. Autumn is here - summers are short this far north. That doesn't mean that we won't have hot days in the next few weeks, but the nights will begin cooling off.

At some point in the next few weeks we'll see the last day of weather above 70 degrees for about 250-270 days. I can't wait.

what's this about the weather??? I've spent the last 6 weeks in ID, MT, MN, IL, WI, IA, NE, CO.. UT and AZ are in the coming days... I'm homesick for cool, cloudy (rainy?) PNW weather!
