Yes, I agree. That is basically the point of the thread. This is not normal and we are not getting to the point we need to in order to produce T-Storms.....which I enjoy, but also produce the downpours we need.

May is almost always a dry month. I have lived in Florida my entire long life and the months of May and October are traditionally "transitional" months. Some years they can be hotter/more humid, but other years dryer and cooler. We have had quite a few nice Mays the last several years, for which I am grateful! Year before last, the cooler dryer weather even lasted into almost mid June! I hope this trend continues, personally.

Most times our T-storm machine starts to get going by mid June, 9 out of 10 times May is kinda dry. Then again i remember the May of 1979 when we got around 17" of rain in two days in the Tampa area.

17" in two days? Wow, that must have been something. I'm guessing there was flooding with that.

Dang! Hernando and Pasco counties got a pounding this afternoon and it was headed south. Thought for sure it would hit us this time, but it kicked slightly east, then south, then back to the coast below Sarasota.

At least the temps are good now. Just need higher dewpoints. We are getting there......slooooooowly.

Not a drop within 15 miles of my house. Never gets close to the coast this time of year. You can thank the seabreeze for kicking more to the east.

It's all over the coast and heavy, heavy, heavy just south of Sarasota. According to WFLA, the sea-breeze IS the reason for the storms.

Thumbs up Yes Sir, it does indeed rain on the coast.

Right along the coast, nice and heavy.
