I can't believe someone could say something so obviously right on the mark! GASP! ARRRRGH! Strangles me own self...*chokes chokes...

This is weird, fellow Texans. As not long ago I thought I saw someone actually suggest that those most likely to hold a concealed handgun license are the least likely to commit violent crimes.

Next thang we'll be hearin' is that cornbread aint' got no sugar in it...

No, crime is high because criminals are innocent victims of an unjust, oppressive society that doesn't celebrate diversity.

Or at least that's the crap I was taught in college. Personally, I think there are just too many dirtbags out there who would rather steal than work.

so guys, would you still consider moving to tx? or if you are already in tx how are you doing? do you want to move out/reconsider?

I was thinking about just move to a safe area in the suburbs, but I probably will go to downtown and the city a lot and that still put me in danger? can't stay in suburb all the time. Would it be fine to just go to nice areas in the downtown area and you should be fine? from what I have read tx seems like a nice place to live, but the crime rate really turns me off, I mean safety is pretty important #1 priority?

what are some lower crime cities in tx? thanks

Yeah, those bastards have been spraying garage doors in my nieghborhood the past two weeks. A lot of these homes belong to third generation Texans and go for 600k and up. Mostly likely another Horn situation will come out of it if they get caught doing it by one of the 65+ crowd.

You will be just fine. Most violent crime is confined to certain areas, just like everywhere else in the country.

I've been to more than a few cities in Texas and find most of them to be pretty safe. There may be a bad neighborhood or bad area to each one, but most people will tell you where they are so you can avoid it. Just go and have fun.
