It could be very interesting if it were somehow related to the Levinson family. Young pre-marriage Cora? Probably too much to wish for.

Yes, that's called the Gilded Age. One movie set in the Gilded Age was The Great Gatsby, although it's a little bit later than the Gilded Age. Worth watching though, if you don't know what the Gilded Age was. It was an era in our history when people were very much into putting on airs and showing off their extravagant wealth.

It was a time when the very wealthy held lavish parties in their gaudy mansions to show off their wealth. Kind of obnoxious. Often that wealth came from corruption and greed. At the same time, the rest of the country's people were living in poverty. These conditions could lead to some pretty good stories for movies and tv--undercurrents of illegal activity, poverty stricken people while at the top, a few were disgustingly rich and took no notice of anything else except money.

One of my friends went and she said it was great but she wished that some of the actors and actresses had been there too much to hope for though . LOL .

May not be the place for this but... I watched a bit of a replay of Edith telling father about thugs possibly getting Michael. I don't remember if we actually found out what happened to him. I might have missed it. Can anyone refresh my memory? Also who was the father of Edith's baby?

Thanks!

Not just a group of thugs, but a group of thugs in brown shirts who went around bullying people. A reference to the early influences of Hitler. Gregson was in Germany to get a divorce from his mentally ill wife, and likely found himself in a scuffle with a group of young Hitlerites who killed him.

Gregson was Marigold's father.

If I'm not mistaken, this was one of the biggest reasons Downton ended. The show was supposed to begin filming a few years ago. I'm glad it is finally coming to fruition.
