Actually, it's quite apparent. "As well as the prequel" = in addition to the prequel.
Again, no.
Quote:
As well as the prequel, Julian is still hoping that he can round up the old cast - comprised of Michelle Dockery, Dame Maggie Smith, Hugh Bonneville and Jim Carter - so that he can make a successful blockbuster based on the period drama.
The proper way to have written this would have been:
"In addition to the prequel, Julian is hoping to make a sequel featuring the old cast." That makes it clear that two films are being planned. The way it is written above, the "successful blockbuster" could reference the prequel.

I'm sorry that you don't understand the simple phrase "as well as." There's nothing wrong with the way it's written. Just your comprehension.
I make no claims for the viability of my comprehension, but I do not agree that there was nothing wrong with the way it was written.
To-may-toes, to-mah-toes, po-tay-toes, po-tah-toes. Either way is correct and each delivers the correct information. This degree of parsing is kind of ridiculous.
That said, I'd be eager to see both of them.
