I'm not really into classical voice, but I used to have a cassette of Placido doing mainstream songs, including the duet with John Denver called Perhaps Love. I agree, Chris does NOT have even close to the voice of PD.

I'd agree with that but he does have a good stage voice. I would expect to see his name on a product sooner or more often than any of the other competitors, even if only a Christmas album.

I hope next time, if they keep the same format, that they cut the last show down to an hour and eliminate the "guest" big names...that was a waste of my time. Even my wife bounced to other shows while they were on. It was great to let the 4 contestants each pick previous contestants to sing a song with...and then just announce the winner, please. No need for washed-out casino circuit singers, teen throbs and rap artists, who already have (or had) their own carreers, thank you.
I got tired of all the backstage stuff before the contestant would actually sing...but it gave me time for bathroom breaks, time to take the dog out or else rinse the dishes....I am doing my lifelong dream, I am doing it for my kids, my wife is pregnant and I need to do this for her and the baby, I have been in a band and want to continue, I don't want to be a bartender anymore, my kid and I lived in a car so I really need to win this, I am a receptionist and I hate my job and don't want to go back, I don't want to be a mechanic anymore, on and on...... One or two times is enough....I have a good memory and don't need to hear about it over and over.. Just sing the song will ya?

I'm getting old......this teeny bopper Justin Bieber stuff annoys me....how he became so popular is beyond me......was he on a Disney Channel show or something?

I really did like the fact that they brought a lot of them back.....they all had fun and it also gave scouts (or whatever they are called), another chance to hear their voices.

I read somewhere, (probably online), that Christina got $10 million......I am assuming the others got the same or somewhere close. Must be nice......

After glancing through this thread, I can honestly say that I've never seen so many different opinions......it's as if we are at a big cocktail party and most people are saying what they want but for the most part, nobody is listening because they are concentrating on the next thing that they want to say....pretty funny...everybody is different, but everybody gets along......this has been a fun, healthy thread for city data participants.....

If Justin Bieber had been a contestant on the show nobody would have turned their chair around for him.

The winner seems like a really nice guy but he still sounds like a backup singer to me. Alicia Keys had him pegged appropriately, IMO. The Voice is more of a popularity contest. If there is more to him than what we saw, at least he'll have an opportunity to prove it.

I quit watching a couple weeks ago, when the coaches were keeping inferior singers and letting more talented ones go. It's too bad that viewers didn't have a say in the early rounds, as that might have led to a vastly different and more interesting final four.

Ah, well.

Not meant to offend any fans, but this show needs a major overhaul and back to the drawing board for production.

The sound and singing was just bad bad bad! There is no nice way to be gentle about it.

I basically FFWD through to see who won after trying to stomach some of it, and as I suspected, Keys boy got a leg up. Congrats to him though...seems like a nice guy!

Boldfaced: Truest statement in the history of city-data TV forum!!!!
Granted I'm not 11 years old but I have NEVER understood his appeal! He has no real singing talent -- he was a "package" I guess -- and as he gets older I predict he will fade away, as he should.

And I was happy for Jermaine (because I didn't want Juliet to win) but you do have a point...I was happy for him as a person and his supportive FAMILY...but we shall see how successful he's going to be.

Ah, well.
I posted here a few weeks ago that I didn't "get" why the judges were still eliminating people so late in the game... at least when there were 10 people left it really should have been left up to the public!
