We're just fast forwarding through the DVR catching up on this season. I thought it was obvious the controversy in the early judging rounds was contrived, and designed to create viewership and ratings. Didn't seem very genuine to me. Fast forward to present, and I've actually enjoyed Nikki's responses and contributions for the most part.
I had no idea who this Nikki was, so after reading up on her and listening to her "performances", I simply can't imagine what passes for celebrity nowadays. At least she's cleaned up her outrageous act a bit since the start, and sounds fairly intelligent.
All I had seen late last year is pictures of Mariah in her bikini, how many pounds she lost after the twins. Now, seeing her on Idol made me gasp. Is she having triplets now or did she ingest a Buick? Wow she must love to eat, a lot. Still pretty of course. Must say this. For such an obvious star and unbelievable singer, she seems fairly immature. The fake accent goes back to the twirly days of the early 90's, and it was old then, used for cocktail parties on occasion. Shocked to say I value Nikki more than Mariah, who I view as dead last in worth as a judge.
Randy is much better this year, and I think Keith Urban is genuine, and probably a nice guy.
I haven't mentioned the contestants yet. Some are ok, some pretty good. Nobody is great, the women do appear to have more talent this year in most cases. I think back to contestants the past few years, and many of the ones still in the running this year, just don't hold a candle to them IMO. Sorry for those that still love Johnny, I never saw it. He has that look that many women love, but I think while his voice is good, his actions on stage are pretty bad, and he grows old quickly.
Overall, I like the way the judges interact this year over the past several seasons. Nothing too serious from them, as I doubt they think of the contestants as serious talent either. All of these shows will have to come up with a new schtick. Pretty apparent from the remarks here as well as the ratings.
I didnt know nothing about Keith music but I agree he seems like a nice guy and he knowledgeable about different genres and artists related to that genre, that I find his critiques useful.
I thought Nicki was judging good what I thought til one contestant tonight I thought it was so out there. I love her facial expressions though.
The guys did horrible tonight but I like the last 3. Lazaro is my favorite of the guys.
Know at the end they show poll on judges decision I didnt get how they 70% disagree.
I hope this isnt a reflection way they plan on voting in the future.

I only watched parts of the show, but the only judge I take seriously is Keith Urban. Good comments and seems like a nice guy.
