I agree that the not-carved-in-stone alliances make for a more interesting game. I can think of many seasons that had very solid alliances that led to generally boring gameplay. It's refreshing to see that this season is pretty loose and seems to be evolving organically.
Fishbach gets on my nerves, but I thought he was gutsy and innovative to challenge the power group's decision to vote Wentworth or Ciara. I liked his idea of "voting blocks" and how he explained it to Jeremy and Spencer. It was obviously a lightbulb moment for Jeremy, he seemed struck by the phrase. When Jeremy mentioned it during tribal, I knew he was going to go with Fish's plan.
I don't mind seeing Wigglesworth go at all, she seemed to be mostly a "filler player" this time. I also wouldn't mind seeing the core alliance getting taken down a few pegs. A few people *cough* Kimmy *cough* are just riding the alliance and not appearing to contribute anything whatsoever to challenges or anything else worthwhile.
YES to people thinking outside the box, playing their own game, and not just being sheep in the herd!
A very good summation. Thank you. I agree, the concept of 'voting blocks' for each tribal council makes it much more interesting. Indeed, it has been a particularly good season.
I wish Jeff would allow players to each bring a blanket. I do not find it entertaining to see people shivering. At least Wigglesworth was able to get warm after being voted off.
Interesting move by Fishbach and I'm still on the fence if I think he made the right decision or not. I kind of feel it's too early for a move like this. As a viewer, it was a lot more fun than just watching Wentworth, Ciera, and Abi being voted off one by one over the next 3 episodes, but as a strategy fan, I don't know that it made much sense. Fishbach is trying to build a resume for the final tribal but he may end up burning too many bridges to even make it there. I think he's paranoid. His first season he lost because while he made all the big decisions between him and JT, everyone saw JT as making those decisions. Stephen was just seen as a tagalong. It feels like he wants to make up for that this season but now he's doing the opposite and going too hard.
Interesting way to get the hidden immunity idol to Jeremy, though not really too hard to sneak off at night to get it. No one's going to suspect you of going idol hunting in the middle of the night so seems pretty easy to get away from camp for a bit.
I was surprised to hear everyone talk about what a power player Wigglesworth was and how she chatted up everybody and everybody liked her. I WISH WE COULD HAVE SEEN THAT! Oh well. The producers obviously didn't seem to like her on the show. Rumor is Probst wasn't happy because she wouldn't give them the whole redemption theme and constantly dwelling on losing her first season. So she kind of got the shaft. But as I recall from her first season, she really is kind of boring. She was expressionless as she was blindsided. Almost acted in her finals words like she didn't even care. I'll be interested to see her ponderosa video and exit interviews (there were also rumors she wouldn't be doing exit interviews but I think she is).
A double-header next week! Two back to back episodes! I was wondering how they were going to get enough people out without having 7 people still remaining in the final episode. I guess now we know. Probst says the second episode someone makes one of the most daring moves ever. We'll see!
Who on earth would ever choose Fishbach to be on their team in a challenge. He is pretty worthless.
Well, he proved himself to be one hell of a swimmer last night. He jumped in feet first and still managed to beat Spencer, who dove in head first, which gives a massive speed advantage.

Kelly WAS boring on Boreno. That she made it to the finals astounded me. She really didn't do much to get there. Luck? I don't exactly remember. I'm not sad to see her go, but I don't think she deserved it over Ciera. If that 3-girl-pact isn't broken up soon, they'll own the show.
It's pretty interesting to me how Stephen's move is looked as being "unloyal", but when everybody in the BB house plays "follow what the house wants", we're all mad saying they should make some big moves
And ironically, if they didn't split the vote last night, they would have gotten either Ciera or Wentworth out.
Does anyone in this game have any loyalties to other people? Look at how easily they break their word at the drop of a hat. Wigglesworth is right. It's a different game than when she first played on Borneo, and this new game isn't her style. She's got some class.
I can't stand Spencer. He'd blindside his own mother if he thought it would benefit his game. I suspect his personal life is the same. No loyalty. It's all about him. His word means nothing.
You leave my Spencer alone! He is going to win this game, He's playing the outwit part.
Fishback was getting way too much air time last night, can't wait to see him go.
Did you see classy Cass giving the finger again as she walked in? She needs to be smacked!

Actually, Kelly went on quite an immunity run at the end of Borneo. That's how she made the finals. She won the last 4 immunity challenges that season.
