I can't wait to see the Nurses Ball. That was always such a treat!

Are younger people watching soaps so much now? isn't that why we have lost so many lately?
You would think the powers that be would have realized a long time ago how much we love seeing old characters/actors come back. it is like seeing a really old friend and lets face it-these people are like old friends if you have watched them everyday for 50 years.

I think I still have the 10,000th episode on tape. (It might have gone in the Great Purge of '11). I stopped watching a few years ago, but with so many fan faves back onscreen, I may have to start watching again.

You should give it a shot! It's really hard to know what to expect with each new episode and I like that, especially the integration of characters...something that had been missing for quite a few years on the show.

General Hospital has improved a lot over the past year or so, although I could do without the One Life to Live characters (except Todd, who is a hoot) and the stupid winking references to Port Charles.

The de-emphasis of the mob has helped to improve things immensely.

It has gotten a lot better in the last few months. They are speeding up the story lines which is helping.

They've also put a stop to rampant "spoiler leaks" of storylines, which adds to the feeling of nostalgia, since you often don't know ahead of time what will happen--like it was in the old days.

Just like when President Kennedy was shot, and Elvis died, I can tell you exactly where I was at when Luke and Laura got married! When I was in 7th grade, just about all the girls began to watch and talk about "Dark Shadows", except me. I had no interest in the Soap Operas of the day, although my mother and her friends were all about GH. My mother and older sister always talked about so-and-so on GH, so I decided to watch. Of course I got hooked! I watched it for years, and I also go hooked on All My Children. I NEVER thought I'd get caught up in a soap opera!

Amy died? How sad. I loved to hate her back in the day.

The last GH I watched WAS Luke and Laura's wedding. I took a portable 6" b&w tv to work with me so I could watch. Then I had to get serious about life and that was the end of my soap opera days. I liked All My Children and OLTL too. Used to watch my mother and grandmother's soaps too.

Was the nurse "Bobbi Spencer" on GH? Fiery redhead. She's stuck in my brain like the Quatermanes and Luke, Laura, Scotty.
