Michael Newton started an Institute to train people in his methods The Newton Institute Life between Lives Hypnotherapy. He died in 2016 but the Institute still trains therapists and can put you in touch with an Institute-trained therapist near you.

Absolutely not, you are opneing up yourself to a demon. For remember they can counterfeit themselves as others or even as you yourself, because they have knowledge of you. Their aim is to seduce you into their power and their thoughts and then into their vile evil actions.

Resist and get the hell out of the unscientific quacks and their so called specialized demonology.

May I suggest, brethren that you NOT think your problems came from your past and buck up in the present by getting serious with what you do know and what you do know about your past that you do remember.... quite looking for excuses and look for answers...

The white coats do not represent science or laws, just theories and sometimes much much worse.... be wary, be discerning.... and quite blaming others, focus and right ship. Dont overly blame yourself, get beyond that and go forward... forget your heritage as if that determines your future. Bloodlines and past experience do NOT have to dictate your future. Break away and be FREE

IMO

Past life regression can be highly therapeutic for conditions that defy conventional treatment.Perhaps you could consider posting in the Religion forum?

As tricky as any demon I would say eh?

Blaming devils and demons is blaming others for your own stuff.

NOT taking personal responsibility for EVERYTHING is blaming others.

Our whole life is experienced through our own filters so EVERYTHING is as a result of our own past experiences and the resultant beliefs. You really cannot dump it all on God and try to pretend God will take the blame.

From what I read "past life regression" is based on hypnosis. One must realize this is a tool used for suggestion, not regression. There is no proven link into the "subconscious mind". Basically what ever memories you have on past life will be due to this period of suggestion, either from suggestions from the person performing hypnosis themselves or from what you are exposed to in your daily life - movies, books, TV, etc. I always find it funny that those coming from the therapy don't remember themselves as the town drunk or the guy that shoveled horse poop from the street, but as a swashbuckling count or countess. So it's probably harmless fun, but otherwise useless.

Where it gets dangerous is if they try to introduce false memories to your current life, again based on suggestion under hypnosis. That's where some of these "hey my parents sexually abused me as a child and I blotted it from my mind" claims come from.
Not everyone sees it as you do.

You do spend an awful lot of time on the UMP sub-fora for a non spiritual and concrete person.

Why? Were you a wizard in your past life?

Gotta tell you, as a believer of many things that I am sure you would trash, and as an ordained minister and perpetual observer of human nature, that I spend ZERO time on sub-fora that have topics that are not of interest or are irrelevant to my life.

Prepping, TV, Fashion and Beauty (maybe once or twice) Asia, Idaho, Montana, the military. Not against any of these. However, they do not interest or obsess me. I've ether never been there, have little desire to go there, disagree with the idea - or whatever.

Why don't you post in forums you like, rather than those you hate?

I also just finished Weiss’ book and am interested in having a hypnotic session for myself. Does insurance cover it? I looked under hypnotherapist and they had no providers (HIP). I

Well now I am creeped-out, are you watching my activity?
Anyways yes I am indeed a Wizard in a past life, but that's irrelevant. In regards to this topic - in a later post I took a different take on it and deemed the past life regression efforts worthwhile as a psychological tool as sort of pacebo effect, in regards to this forum in general I am generally skeptical and often "challenge" a topic in a respectful manner but I have declared in many cases that "I Want to Believe" and thus my interest in the topics. So I like this subforum, I like the people that post here, I like the topics. Simple as that.

But stop looking at my activity, that's just creepy and strange.

As a retired mental health professional -- in the United States, you can get insurance coverage of treatment provided there's a medically necessary reason for the treatment -- which means a diagnosis. Whether or not hypnotherapy specifically as a treatment mode is covered depends on the terms of your insurance. Wanting to do hypnotherapy (or any other form of therapy) out of curiosity or for self improvement is generally not covered. That's why things like life coaching are typically not covered by insurance. Don't know about other countries.

You could contact Weiss or hypnotherapists in your area to ask if hypnotherapy is covered in any insurance plans he knows of. You could also call your insurance company, to ask if therapy done via hypnosis is covered. You might also Google around, to see if the issue of insurance companies covering hypnotherapy has come up as an issue, like acupuncture has. The health insurance industry may feel that hypnotherapy is an "experimental" modality without proven consistently effective results.
