Totally amazing.

If someone opened a winter driving school in Burlington, they could make a large pile of money.

lol...I was driving literally all day non stop, from around noon till just about 30 minutes ago(it is now 10:30pm). In Chitty, Lamoille, Washington counties. Horrible road conditions, thank god for the jeep and arctic claw. So many cars - stuck, in ditches, accidents.

Spotted two plows.......

Am here in Winsor visiting family for Thanksgiving. Last night got buried in snow. Today warmed enough for roads to melt off in town. Sidewalks look like they are drying up as well after the sidewalk plow went over them. Cloudy today, had a little sun earlier. looks like it will be a cold night tonight.

Next Arctic outbreak potential comes around Mid December. I'm thinking after the 9th?
As we get into the winter months these outbreaks will get harsher. Great Lakes freezing up earlier than normal after a later than normal melt. Hudson Bay freezing up. Snowcover to the west. Arctic air building up. The push of air will be colder.

If projections stand, the first sub freezing temps in VT will happen between 8th and 15th of December. Obviously too far out to pin point details.

Until then we get ups and downs of unseasonably and seasonable warm and cool temps.

...A light wintry mix will produce slippery conditions overnight into Sunday morning... Light snow will develop across northern New York and Vermont before midnight. The snow will change over to sleet during the overnight hours...ending as freezing drizzle Sunday morning. Outside of the Champlain Valley...a light glaze of ice will produce slippery conditions on untreated roadways and sidewalks. Travelers are advised to drive slowly and cautiously...allowing plenty of extra time to reach your destination.

Latest Euro says a big snowstorm Monday & Tuesday next week. I haven't checked anything else so not sure how it compares to consensus. Another coastal storm comes up with temps supporting snow. Lots of liquid so its showing 12"+ for many areas.

Yup. Some snow Saturday night but we don't get excited for a couple inches. lol . What we're waiting on is the track of the Typhoon in the Pacific. If it goes north, chances increase for cold and snow for Northeast... If it goes West, Spring will be in the air.

From BTV... Gets a little technical but basically they mention the GFS and EURO models and that we need to keep an eye on things.

NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE BURLINGTON VT
653 AM EST WED DEC 3 2014

HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN LATER SATURDAY NIGHT WITH A SHOT OF COLDER
AIR (925 MB TEMPS CRASH TO AROUND -12C IN THE GFS) FOR SUNDAY.

THINGS THEN GET MESSY FROM A PREDICTABILITY STANDPOINT MONDAY INTO
MIDWEEK. FOR THIS PERIOD AT 500 MB...BOTH GFS AND ECMWF DEPICT A
STRONG NORTHERN STREAM SHORTWAVE TROUGH WHICH AT 12Z MONDAY IS BACK
ACROSS THE WESTERN GREAT LAKES...THE ECMWF ACTUALLY CLOSING THIS
OFF. INTERESTINGLY...BOTH GFS AND ECWMF DO DEVELOP A COASTAL LOW
WHICH TRACKS TOWARD SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND EARLY NEXT WEEK. WHEN THE
CYCLOGENESIS HAPPENS IS A BIG QUESTION MARK. THE ECMWF DEPICTS A
STRONGER LEAD SHORTWAVE TROUGH WHICH LEADS TO STRONGER COASTAL
CYCLOGENESIS MONDAY/MONDAY NIGHT. THAT PROCESS IS DELAYED IN THE GFS
UNTIL THE AFOREMENTIONED GREAT LAKES SHORTWAVE DIGS INTO THE MID-
ATLANTIC STATES LATER MONDAY INTO TUESDAY. THE ECMWF DIGS ITS
NORTHERN STREAM GREAT LAKES SHORTWAVE INTO THE DEEP SOUTH LATER
TUESDAY AND DEVELOPING ANOTHER LOW COMING UP THE COAST BY MIDWEEK.
SINCE THE IDEA OF A COASTAL HAS BEEN DEPICTED FOR SEVERAL MODEL
CYCLES IT DOES SEEM FAIR TO SAY THAT THERE WILL BE "SOMETHING" TO
WATCH EARLY NEXT WEEK. BUT WITH TIMING AND PHASING ISSUES, I WASN`T
CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO MAINTAIN LIKELY POPS FOR MONDAY NIGHT SO I`VE
LOWERED POPS TO HIGH CHANCE. STAY TUNED!
