Anywhere I am not required, I will go mask free. If a business still requires it then I will respect their wishes even though I am vaccinated.

Do what is right! (not for you!, but for others / your community and country).

Sorry Stealth, I see a lot of complaints about the US in your post, and a lot of comparisons to reported death rates other countries that aren't at all like ours, but I am not understanding what you think we should have done differently.

You're saying we should wear masks and avoid close contact with groups in closed spaces. We did that.

I don't have an answer, I'm not sure I know better, I'm genuinely curious. What should we have done that we didn't do, this past year?

According to today's paper I hit it out of the ball park....Our local health official is not going to follow our governor's lead and open up without masks.
Costco and Walmart has announced that mask will no longer be required. Our local health official said that was reckless. I am guessing Costco and Walmart are more in line with the CDC guide lines then our local health officials who like to see their pictures in the newspaper.

Besides a lot more unnecessary deaths, this no mask experiment may push out 'freedom' international travel 3-5 more yrs. YTBD.

The actions are very clear and simple.

When in public, be considerate of others as if you could be an asymptomatic Super Spreader. Test daily if you work with the public, or anytime you encounter a person without a mask, or feel you may have been exposed or display any symptoms, or will be interacting with a vulnerable or immune compromised individual. Just the standard consideration when dealing with a pandemic that can be debilitating or deadly to those you choose to encounter.

The USA will never curtail Covid since we don't have mandatory contact tracing, and testing will be even more curtailed, because No Tests = No Cases. That has worked out real well for the 550,000 of our fellow colleagues we have chosen to kill to exploit our own freedom.

You can always move to your dream countries in Asia if they are that much better at everything. But don't expect everybody else to change their lives forever because something MIGHT happen.

No country will eradicate Covid. We will live with it as we do the flu.

I assume that those who don't want to vaccinate and don't want to wear a mask will simply lie and go ahead and do whatever they want to do.

Which means that those who have made a an effort to protect themselves will need to keep on doing whatever it is they do to protect themselves. Those who have vulnerable family members will have to be even more cautious.

I know this fear of asymptomatic spreaders has been drilled into our heads for the last year. But I really don’t think it has proved to be true. And it’s not turning out to be true that vaccinated people are still vulnerable to spreading it. If you are vaccinated and your vulnerable family members are vaccinated, I think they are not at measurable risk from you or anyone else being exposed.

We keep getting told to trust the science. The science is telling us that these vaccines are working. If you have had the vaccine, there is no reason to think you have to act like you’ve not had the vaccine.

I understand why everyone has this residual fear. But I do think it is not founded in reality. Over time I hope people realize that. Because only then will we return to any kind of normal.

Whatever you do... don't listen to CDC or politicians for instruction on health protocol. There is plenty of science worldwide to get REAL and effective information,
Here's the CDC *now* saying that some die from COVID-19, some die with COVID-19.

I'm happy to say that the 600,000 number "from Covid" is a blatant lie. Maybe you can get this CDC Director from the video to provide you with the actual numbers.

You may now resume your normal Doomer Gloom.
