Here's our farm (somewhere in this pic) that the clippers head over prior to heading elsewhere:
(it will be long time yet before we will be able to get near it):
at the worst 37 cm of snow is in our combined short and long range forecast.
We haven't had that nice rain smell here because it's far too cold. It only seems to happen after relatively warmer and dry weather in my experience. It's colder than a blasted winter this Gaypril so far so no wonder. It's just dead ugly and cold outside.
It feels milder than of late too, I've even got some of my windows open to allow some fresh air in. To be honest, humidity isn't bad to me when it isn't hot, it is actually very refreshing if it's 16C with rain falling, especially after an extended dry period.
I recon this whole year is going to be the coldest in over 100 years. People keep on saying "well there's milder signs at the end of the run" but it NEVER HAPPENS and it reminds me of the Simpson's couch gag where they all run towards the couch but the wall gets further and further away and they never reach it. Before we know where we are it will be November and we'll all be talking about how we're on for a sub 8.5°C CET after the new wettest summer on record, and record-breaking lowest average maximum temperature since a summer in 1735 or something.
We are going on today with snow still on the hills after rain.
The rain has dried up already aswell!! I thought the rain would wash away the snow I guess not.
It rained a bit today, first time since November. Warmth is finally breaking through with temps reaching 11°C next week. It's also going to be rainy which will help to melt the snow. Bring it on, I'm ready for a barbecue.
I love the spirit, any excuse to have some charcoaled meat!
