.
Those are the only two that I have seen I have never ever seen this 'sleet'.

No hail is common just not Ice Pellets. Whatever they are.

Hail isn't common here. Not unusual, but I see more hail in spring and summer dduring thunderstorms. Ice pellets are not common either.

Well your geography revision isn't going well then. Still got snow on our mountains. Not melting yet... maybe not until May.

Well we are not learning about Mountains.

And yes the snow has survived the rain here too. It will probably be gone at around the 20th on the lower hills but above 450m I think it will last to May. As long as it doesn't reach 20c +.

Big snow drifts here today with a temperature near the freezing mark (-2C). It snowed a lot more than I expected overnight:

I was unable to get my car out of the driveway, and that still wouldn't mean anything as the road is still unplowed:

This is the most protracted winter since that of 1996-1997.

Is it common to have snow now? I think the snow there could extend right through to May which would mean that the summer might be colder.

Are the lakes still frozen? If its still like that now then the warm up will be very slow as the snow will just reflect the sun.
