A low of 17C for London is impressive for October.
Chicago/MDW since 1980 extreme high minimum by month: 3 occasions with a 22C low in October
More impressive (for our standards) is the 16C low in December!
22C is impressive for October in a continental climate..
And that 16C is pretty impressive as well.. we see occasional lows of 13C or 14C each winter, but of course those types of days stay the same temperature over 24 hours and includes a thick covering of stratus **** cloud

Dec 1982 had an exceptionally mild open and close to the month
Looks like a lot of rain headed towards Ireland and the UK
should reach 33c here, then go back to near-normals, around 25c
I wouldn't mind cooler weather at this point. I still have friends already fearing the coming winter. Some Italians speak like we live in Finland...
