According to weather spark it peaks at 59F/15C in August. So dew points are in the comfortable range.

Their days of clouds and sun doesn't look that far off from here. I doubt it feels as cloudy as people on here are saying if you spend the whole summer there.

What is the average dewpoint on a summer day in London?
It's not similar at all. The east coast of US has real summers. while London doesn't.

I have spent full days at Heathrow twice, once in June and once in August. The June day was nice (partly sunny 22C) and the August day was 16C very dark and raining all day. But I am going to visit England and Scotland for 2 weeks some time in the next 2-3 years.

2 days wow.. obviously that 16C day is not representative of a typical August day, 16C in July or August is a very rare event.

Well, clearly it will be a shock if you're used to 88F every day, but it's still very pleasant. Tourists don't complain.

I'm not sure how anyone can complain about 70-75 F and partly cloudy skies.....sure it isn't beach weather but who the hell goes to London for that anyways?

The Greenwich weather station is under a tree, which explains the missing sun hours (put the coords into google maps and check it for yourself).

Based on the average high and the average pm humidity, dewpoints average 15.5c in July and August.

So you had a fairly typical June day and an almost record-breaking cold day in August.

That was August 2008, the dullest on record at Heathrow. Even February recorded more sunshine that year (and probably more sun than any winter month in Seattle).

Talking about cloudy days more than temp. Remember the US has a more liberal method of calculating sun hours. Wonder how many hours London would have using our system?

Probably somewhere between 1800-2000.

Here is the location of the Greenwich weather station. Not the best place for sunshine recording, is it.
