I'm referring to the change in daylight, not my sleeping. Two weeks ago it was getting dark at 6 where I was now it's getting dark well past 8pm.
It's awkward going from sundown around 5:30 pm to sundown around 7 pm. It's almost like "time travelling" because you start doing something, get fixated on it, look at the clock after some time, and think holy crap it's this late already.
If you really want to mess up your internal clock go to the southern hemisphere in the summer or winter. I went to Argentina in January from Chicago, so not only was their a huge temperature change and an obvious cultural change, but I went from about 8 1/2 hours of daylight and most of that cloudy to 16+ hours of daylight most of that sunny. It was great while I was there, but when I returned home it was rough readjusting. Lesson learned...go to the southern hemisphere in late October/early November or late March/early April.

Interesting story, though early November you would still go from short daylight hours here to long daylight hours in the SH.
Finally caught that damn snake. 5th snake in my yard in less than a years span and all are venomous. I finally decided to cut the grass today it was badly in need of a cut for a while but I'm a procrastinator and that was the mistake, the grass was tall enough for the snake to be hidden, it was 8 inches so still young.
I went past it with the mower and did not notice it and somehow by dumb luck I didn't get bitten. When I came back with the trimmer I went to the area where it was at by the fence and cut its head off unknowingly that's when I saw it. Picked it up on a stick and and started bashing it, it was unconscious until I began bashing it then it's guts spilled out and it started launching it's head in random directions. I need to find the mom, this snake was a cotton mouth which is a type of viper which are the most venomous snakes of all. 3rd cotton mouth in my yard, first was a 2 foot one a few years back. The second I caught when I was cutting the grass last august.
