How the f*** is Syracuse not in the tournament? SIX top 50 wins! USC has 2! And one of them was against UCLA at home who they also lost to twice. Wake forest 3 top 50 wins and Syracuse BEAT them. Kansas state has 4. And Kansas state lost to TCU, Texas tech, Tennessee and go Oklahoma by 30 in late February! They had a f***ing losing record in the big 12, Syracuse had a winning record in the ACC and was seeded AHEAD of wake forest. USC hasn't beaten a team with a winning record since January! Kansas State is 6-11 versus the top 100, Syracuse is 9-9. Wake forest and Xavier are 8-13 against the top 100 and wake is 3-10 against he top 50. Kansas state is 4-9 against the top 50 and the cuse are guess what 6-8. Sure they don't have bad losses, but you need to f***ing beat people! Michigan state is a 9 seed and is 9-12 against the top 100. Worse! And who thinks a team that goes 3-10 against the same ranks that another team went 6-8 against and lost to them head to head! If Syracuse played an easy non conference schedule, who cares they play in the head conference and had a winning record in it. USC had the same record in a conference with 3 good tournament teams and played just 8 games against the top 50. Only 2 more than Syracuse won. And who gives a s*** if Syracuse's good wins were all at home. Well let's see USC try to beat 3 top 20 teams at home. They can't. They had one win over ucla and got slaughtered by Oregon and Arizona. Syracuse had bad losses at the beginning of the year, but there were 2 freshmen and 2 5th year seniors who didn't know the zone. No way the team that goes 8-1 at home in conference with 3 top 30 wins loses by 30 to a horrible team now. And the best line ever, "Syracuse struggled against teams both in and out of the tournament" by the committee chair. 6-8 vs tournament teams is struggling????? So wake forest at 3-10, USC at 2-6, Kansas Sate at 4-9 aren't????

I'm 90% sure this was a conspiracy to keep us out after many people thought we got in undeservingly last year and that they are trying to make up for it. They were just looking for reasons to leave Syracuse out and apparently it wasn't the most discussed issue which means they had us outside before the discussion and didn't give s*** about anything but keeping us out this year for the people who thought we should have been out last year.

Really don't like the way tradies are praised for being heroes in Australian culture, whereas academics/intellectuals are pissed on. We've got a massive brain drain and this crap doesn't help. Don't get the logic in praising them, yeah they're important to society but it's much more difficult to be an academic than to be a tradesman.

If you're a foreigner with a trade Australia will practically roll the red carpet out for you.

I dont like the portrayal of Columbus as a hero in North America. Praising a man who didn't discover anything, who never set foot on the American continent, who killed thousands of innocent people. Its ridiculous. At least Cortes conquered a very hated and powerful group of people, Columbus didnt do ****. The Taínos were friendly and had no enemies, there are no excuses for what Columbus did

Yeah not sure why we celebrate it. The way they cover it in grade school is so inaccurate and sugar coated.

I wish they would rather teach us about the people who lived here before. The Taínos, the Arawaks, the Azteca, the Iriquois, etc. That would be much more helpful than studying Columbus

Yeah ..... maybe, but I really can't see it. Too bad it's so long until they next play.

I experienced a bit of that over there recently, and I wasn't even working in my trade.

Geologist is not longer on the SOL. It's on the CSOL list which is used for 457s though. I'm hoping the mining industry picks up again in the next year or so; it's certainly more lively than it has been over the past 2 years. Just hope it's before our economy collapses.
