Lol, then they complain when they move here about the lack of amenities such as public transportation. Well don't you think that if we had those same amenities as up north we would not be nearly as cheap anymore? They don't realize the trade offs they are making when moving. Move south you get cheaper taxes, houses, land, food, and gas in general depending on state. On the flip side you have less amenities, lower wages, and less to do.

But still, like I said, Londoners would likely choose cheaper areas closer to London, not hundreds of miles away, and would still prefer to work in London.
Also, seems like good jobs are more concentrated in London than they are concentrated in the US.

True. UK is a very centralised country, like France.

Here's the difference between where he lived in NY vs now in AZ. Incomes are 1/3rd or so higher but mostly from high paying jobs he isn't qualified for; houses are less than half the cost, considering property taxes. Of course, there are cheaper NYC suburbs but he'd have to make a lot of compromises to find a place as cheap.

A lot of the more expensive places are ones you couldn't pay me to live in.

Kentucky has the 8th cheapest COL in the nation btw...

Why, just why. I can't think of any other country in the world where people are actually moving away from the wealthiest regions to the poorest.
Because the climate in the Northeast north of NYC is just unbearable. I'd rather live somewhere without any snow or cold weather, even if it means sacrificing health and education

South America in general is much better than Florida because you get year round mild/warm weather, AND a lot of cities down here are very urban, so they will remind you of New York. As opposed to somewhere like Fort Lauderdale where a car is a necessity and the streets are dead 24/7. Honestly I really think that I should move down here permanently, especially if I find a job. I dont care if it pays less, but the mild weather, walkability, culture, and of course the value of family down here is much more important to me
