I wasn't disputing your numbers. NOAA let's us easily use their website to pick any number of years and get the number of days of any temp threshold. I see 15 to 20 days as a rather large spread. I mean 15 days is 25% less than 20.

There are no near identical climates (summer) to Motueka in the UK.
Anywhere I can find geneuine Motueka stats? Best Wiki has is Nelson, which has a typical southern England summer.

Why do you need stats? -the discussion is which has the highest temperatures, but on how those who come from the UK, typically seem to view the summers here, compared to the UK.

Here are the stats for Motueka's station, that stop recording in the mid 1980s Comparing it to Southsea (I didn't realise that was Portsmouth), It's warmer in the last month of spring and the first month of autumn, than the first month of summer in Southsea. Newer figures would indicate that it's first month of autumn is now warmer than any summer month there, and even the second month of autumn is only 0.3C cooler than June in Southsea. http://www.climate-charts.com/Locati...000G121910.php

Because the best way to compare climates is to look at the official data, rather than a bunch of dubious anecdotes from someone with an agenda.

From those stats the peak high months are still cooler than London Heathrow, and a lot wetter, with no sunshine stats provided.

I haven't worked it out, that's just an estimate. We get 14 days above 27c so it will be slightly higher than that.

We're not comparing climates (at least I'm not)

Agenda? -a jewish conspiracy perhaps?

It's just people, who generally without the benefit of statistics, are giving their view of how they see the summer compared to their home one.

You're make Brits sound like a bunch of bitter, hysterical nutters.

Heathrow is warmer, but Motueka is about as sunny as Nelson It has heavier rain, but less rain days (Brits typically like the nature of the summer rain here). Latest unofficial stats have Motueka on 23.9C for the warmest two months.

The only place around here as far inland as Heathrow, that records temperatures, has 24.4C for the warmest month.

I've lost track of this conversation, but I believe it began with the claim that summers in SE England are practically the same, as summers in many parts of the NZ. The stats backed this up, so instead you began trying to claim that NZ summers are clearly superior because some Brits told you so.
