I hit 6F in December but that's the coldest in January. Pathetic considering I'm on the border of zone 5b
Indianapolis has only dipped to 6 F at one of the weather stations in November and were also a borderline 6a/5b in Indianapolis. The coldest it has gotten since December 1st is 8 F at that same weather station. The airport has only gotten down to 8 F all season so far.

The coldest temperature I've seen in southern Indiana was 10 degrees, of course that occurred in NOVEMBER!
Sunny and 61 in Austin on the way to 64. Good air quality.
Around the nation:
NYC mostly sunny and 45, unhealthy air quality. That darn arctic high pressure is parked over the city and no circulation.
Boston partly cloudy and 45, moderate air quality.
The last few days that nasty arctic high pressure area has been parked over the Northeast. When it sits this type of air pollution can accumulate. Rain on Saturday may help clean the air out. What they really need is a Southeast wind off the Atlantic, it will clear the air pollution up right away.
This is one the reasons why I dislike dry winter weather like in places like China. Pollution levels can be bad.
Ended up 5F cooler than was forecast today. Got up to 57F with showers ending by the morning. Warmer air stayed to the south. Got up to 70F in Lake Charles.
Another cold front has passed thru. Forecast to get down to 39F tonight. Highs around 60F the next couple of days.
