Might be a bit above normal here after the Fourth according to the CPC

https://twitter.com/Skilling/status/...610022917?s=20

Looks to dry out here after today with most of the precip falling to our south and east between now and the Fourth

GFS says we might even hit a 90 degree temp in the 16 day model run but even that might not last too long as the tail end of this model run forecast brings us back down into the 70s

With just 2 days left of the month, Chicago/ORD"s departure from normal so far this month is +3.8F. The average high should end up being around 83.8F at ORD for the month.

High today 83f, low 67f. Pretty nice day for summer. It's June 29th and we haven't even crossed 90f yet here and the remainder of summer looks to be mild.

Another cool front headed this way this weekend brining us into the 70's for highs and 50's at night. Couldn't ask for better weather.

Just be grateful you’re not dealing with a full month of 70+ dew points in one setting

I would definitely take the 120 degrees in Portland than this crap of a pattern. Stupid Bermuda high pumping all the humidity as usual all over the East. At least I can sweat the somewhat dry air in the current heatwave in the PNW though it’s definitely not Arizona level dry heat. Imagine not having an ac with 75 degree dew point at 90 plus degree air temp? It’s not survivable in the least. The save and grace is at least we get frequent thunderstorms in the East from all the humidity. Not such a luxury in the west

As much as I hate humidity, this isn't true. I've seen people in places like Bangkok and Manila who don't have AC in their homes, and they survive

Temp anomaly to date for CONUS

Speaking of humidity dew point here in the far south suburbs of Chicago hit 79 degrees today

The city airports hit +70F dew points as well. All this rain is also going to bring out tons of mosquitoes

Edit: and now a thunderstorm cell just popped up around me...
