Current conditions in Bellingham: 19 degrees with heavy snow and ice fog! Sadly I'm missing out as I'm in Seattle for the holidays, but we might pick up a few inches late tonight through tomorrow afternoon with the arctic front (such as it is).

Got up to 80F here Christmas Day but haven't set any daily record highs yet (1F shy of the record on the 24th and 25th). Though the forecast highs each day for the remainder of December are near record highs. Looking like we could get a strong cold front around New Year's Day.

63 degrees on Christmas Day in Indianapolis put us just shy of the record high of 64. Yesterday was much cooler in the upper 40s but still some 10+ above normal. Today should climb into the lower 60s once again but we will be well shy of the record high of 68F. Our normal high this time of year is upper 30s. Finally this coming weekend looks to be much more winter like. Rain on Saturday but temps Saturday night fall into the 20s with highs maybe not climbing above freezing Sunday and possibly some snow depending which model you want to believe.

With no snow in the forecast for the rest of December we will finish with just a trace of snowfall for the month, only the 4th time since records began in 1870 that Indianapolis didn't get measurable snowfall in December and the first time in 81 years.

Global warming or what else can explain the continued extreme weather behavior including temperatures much above average and strong tornado storms.

La Nina and Earth "seasonal" patterns (for the planet Earth a seasonal pattern can change in decades or centuries).
