I'd rather it miss to the East than to West. I hate rain in winter!
I'd rather it miss to the north than to the south yet its happened this winter a few times.

I need a good one before March!

The flurries coming down now is the most amount of snowfall so far in 2022. Crazy!

The Southeast ridge is part of the low latitude climate fail of the Ohio Valley. One of many reasons why I will be moving much further north again in a few more years. Every single season in this area of the country is aggravating or unpleasant.

More wintry scenes this morning

https://twitter.com/NWSChicago/statu...994573312?s=20

Coldest area low temps (probably in the outlying western suburbs) could dip down to -16F by Wednesday morning

Wind chills in the -20F range

GEFS 6Z not showing much of a southeast ridge... LOL

Something tells me the Northeast should be paying close attention to the Mets this week

With all these systems, I feel like a baseball fan when the opposing team's batter hits fly ball after fly ball down the foul line and you just hope they keep drifting foul.

I don't care if it drops 2 feet of snow on Martha's Vinyard, that's fine, just keep the I-95 corridor in good shape.

If 2 feet fell on Martha’s Vineyard, chances are the I95 corridor won’t go unscathed either, at least not the part north of the Mason-Dixie line.

That's a whole lot of blue but will it turn out that way?

You're right. The current Euro shows most of the snow going into Eastern New England with a foot plus reserved for points east of Hartford, but the NYC area does get 5-6 inches. However, Philly, Baltimore and D.C. get off lightly and of course so do the Carolinas and Georgia.

From my vantage point that works.

It's the same idea regarding the sharp gradient in plant hardiness zones from the coast into the interior. Presque Isle in Aroostook County could be -30F whereas Bar Harbor in Hancock County could be 0F on the same night.

Winter Bombogenesis nothing new for us here in Southern New England but it's always fascinating when it happens.

Most recent ones I can remember.

December 5, 2020
March 7, 2020
Jan 4, 2018

All models now have it for Saturday. GFS was first with 7 in a row few days ago.
