Interesting. Looks like New Orleans isn't alone when it comes to Louisiana not getting frost/freeze yet.

Edit: interestingly New Orleans averaged 18 C for December 2021 according to TimeAndDate. Unsurprising, given all those warm temps up to 28 C, and the coldest night only being 8 C.

Some models have been showing light wintry precip down here Sunday behind cold front! Local meteorologist thinks we have a 10-20% chance of seeing something. Hard to imagine with the warmth lately.

Forecast to drop to 35F tomorrow night following high of 82F. Should get a freeze Sunday night.

Good by blowtorch December

Hello snowstorm

Last winter was a blowtorch for December and most of January but then the end of Jan and February we had 3 feet of snow and it was brutally cold

Are you gonna have the same snowfall total as me to start January? 0.10" so far.

I Can't believe we have to wait ANOTHER 7 days for any potential. Unbelievable.

Friday January 7, 2022 Storm Update::

Latest Euro says this... Storm track is right over Southern CT. This would be a Rain to snow scenario.

Latest GFS says this... Storm track is over Northern CT and MA. NOT a track you want for an all snow event here. Has to be off the coast. No other way

This scenario would be an interior snowstorm and rain for me.

Its 7 days away, this will change so many times next 4 days...Hopefully trends East!

As of New Year's Day, minus the 3 places in Texas, all the locations I'm tracking (incl. downtown Savannah, Charleston, Mobile, and Tallahassee) still have no frosts or freezes. I'll be very surprised if they get any this winter given the forecasts from The Weather Channel and NOAA.
