Description: Located on campus, just northeast of the main gate, this museum features exhibits detailing Native American life and culture in the Southwest from prehistoric times to the present. You’ll find pottery, baskets, clothing, and all the other artifacts that made up daily life, all with detailed information on how they were used. The museum’s collection of Southwest Indian pottery is the largest in the world and much of it is featured in the Pottery Project, a permanent exhibit, with an interpretive gallery. The building is a work of art, too, with wide marble staircases and a large lobby. The gift shop offers Native American arts and crafts. Open to the public Mon through Sat 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Description: This small but unique museum features exhibits about military life on the Arizona frontier and is located in the reconstructed commanding officers’ quarters, which were established in 1873. You’ll find it in Fort Lowell Park at the corner of Craycroft and Fort Lowell Roads. Open Fri and Sat 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Lots of special activities take place throughout the year, including walking tours, lectures, and living history events. Admission fees vary; the first Saturday of the month is free.
