I can remember all of us walking down the sidewalk like baby ducks following their mother until we got there. There were only two firemen there and they showed us around the firehouse where we got to look at the hoses and the pole that they slid down and try on their helmets. Then we got to go out and look at the trucks, one was a lot older...

An Effective Approach to be a Muslim

Posted 02-24-2016 at 09:57 PM by Continuum

Most Muslims will define a Muslim as one who has affirmed the Shahada or its essential in accordance to the Quran and is expected to perform the 5 pillars to the best of their ability. Ultimately whatever is done is up to Allah to decide on Judgment Day. This is very flimsy on the part of the Muslim.

In the 6,236 verses of the Quran there are many obligations that a Muslim must abide with and obey [in the best of his abilities] to meet Allah's expectations. How can one do that...

Posted 02-24-2016 at 06:47 PM by case44 (Welcome To Case's Column)

This truly has been a year of notable music industry passings, and we're not even yet two months into same. Look at the list of notables whom we've lost since January, from Natalie Cole to David Bowie to Glenn Frey to Kitty Kallen to Red Simpson.

And as of Monday? Sonny James.

The man known as The Southern Gentleman passed away Monday at age 87. Hard to believe. Sonny James. Gone. I'm still trying to get this to sink in. The cause of death...

Helping another

Posted 02-24-2016 at 03:29 PM by Stymie13

So I got a call,
To help a friend
Not one I know
From one extend.
Needs help with house
Plumbing and such.
Put these hands to work
Idle to much.
Price no worries
I donate my time
My knowledge and skill
Free, not even a dime.
