Looking for 529th MP soldiers in MN

Posted 06-21-2008 at 07:29 PM by landonp4

Hi my name is Melanie Tackett and I was driving down 55 coming home to Hastings, MN (on 21JUN08 at approx 815pm) and I was passed by a man on a motorcycle with a 529th Military Police shirt and ACU pants on and I know the shirt was only given out when I was assigned there at that time (i think in 2002 or so) so I know that I know this person. So my hopes are that someone (or the person riding the cycle) finds this blog and responds. It would be great to see old friends fromt he unit.

Looking for feed-back from African-American families living in Evanston, IL

Posted 06-21-2008 at 04:33 PM by 2yearplan

I am considering a move to Evanston, IL in 2 years. I've been doing lots of research but want to hear from other African-American families who live(d) in Evanston. Is there problems with segration or racists in the community or the high school? I've heard some bad comments on these blogs about such things and am concerned about that. I thought segration was a thing of the past in America!

Bald Eagles

I’ve been fascinated with bald eagles ever since I was a small child and saw pictures of them in books. Where and when I grew up along the Alabama Gulf Coast there were no bald eagles. At that time, their numbers had declined to the point of near extinction in North America due to the effects of DDT usage by humans. It wasn’t until I had grown children of my own that I was able to...

Black Bear At Mendenhall Glacier

Posted 06-21-2008 at 10:32 AM by Redhawk (The Misadventures of Redhawk)

My daughter and I went for a walk along Steep Creek near Mendenhall Glacier here in Juneau Friday evening around 7PM and we saw a juvenile cinnamon Black Bear grazing on the lush grass along the creek bank.
