We spent our last day in MA, yesterday, visiting a family friend in Swampscott. It was nice to talk with someone that knew our family, in addition to being a charming, intelligent, and thoughtful host.

We decided we're gonna go out and see a movie this morning. We've been hearing good things about that movie Julie and Julia. It was really a pretty good little movie.

We're foodies, so this movie was a natural for us.

As a guy you know you're getting older when you see a movie like this as opposed to a movie like District 9.

Anyway I really enjoyed it. It was funnier than I thought it would be. It also makes me somewhat envious knowing that the characters...

Pregnant friend

Okayy so I have this friend and she's 18 and idk what to tell her.she hasn't told her mom or dad yet but is going to at the end of the month because her dad said if she gets pregnant he will kick her out. She talks to me almost every night about her problems. I'm running out of inspirational things to tell her to help her get through this.I need help. She and the dad are scared. Info: she's keeping the baby. She's moving in with the dad.she has family trouble. Some of her friends aren't the same...

I forget the movie where Bill coaches his team of misfits prior to the Big Game, but the central theme is: "Even if God lines up on YOUR side of the Field .... it JUST DOESN'T Matter."

My husband kept a recording of that pep talk to play to himself for decades. It used to BUG me to NO END. Of course IT MATTERS! EveryTHING MATTERS!! my tortured brain would scream out at me in denial. THIS (anything and everything) MATTERS.

What a dolt I was then. God/Allah/Brahma...
