Neodesha: This is a picture of Neodesha Kansas Old Water Plant under water. The flood started on June 29 2007. It was so devastating and considered a Nationally a Disaster. Fema and many other donations came to Neodesha Flood Victims rescue. Currnetly November 18 2007, most flood victims are living in the FEMA trailers in the trailer park, some people are rebuilding their homes "a little higher then their last home" while they sleep in campers. The community really united together to help one another. A personal story of how people helped eachother, my sister's home was in the path of the flood and when people around the community started noticing the flooding start happening, people started knocking on residents homes that were either already starting to flood or was getting ready to flood. "People I didn't even know was in my house working together in a couple inches of water, lifting my furniture and belongings on metal chairs. All I could do was stand there and cry, watching complete strangers and some faces of people I reconised, helping my family and me pack things we needed and lifting things to a higher level." stated my sister Shannon Waldron. Still living in the FEMA trailer trying to piece her life back together one piece at a time, she eventually wants to relocate to Oregon. "I love Neodesha but what has happend to me and my family I can NEVER erase out of our minds especially my children's minds! That night/day was CRAZY to say the least, words can't even explain the emotions we felt. My daughter 2 years old at the time said to me a couple days later when we moved what belongings we had to my sister's (Sheena's) two bedroom apartment "mommy can we go home?" Said Gabbi "No baby not yet." "because our house is blooded mommy" that's how she heard flooded. "Yes baby, our house is flooded." replied Shannon. For about a week Neodesha was without water. The support from people from all around went above and beyond helping complete strangers.
