Very nice Ray.
It must be killing you not being able to get out and take photos.

Oh yes. She loves the attention, and gets a lot of it from everyone at our home

Thanks Blueflames50, Vpcats, Nephler, and JohnPF for the nice comments. And yes, Nephler, it's hard waiting for the smoke to clear so I can take landscapes and moon photos.

Okay all you great photo people...I am emailing trying to purchase this camera set up for $900...what do you think? I have been looking for the Nikon D-80 or D-90 and this person is throwing in a 35mm set up: this is her ad.

Nikon D-80 SLR with 28-80mm and 70-300mm
also included is my original Nikon 4004s with a 50mm and a 200mm.
All lenses are Nikon except the 200mm for the 4004 camera and that is a quantaray.
D-80 is in brand new condition

Sounds like eBay Item #260453847037 ??? A Nikon D80, with a 28-80mm and a 70-300mm, which sold for $720 earlier today.

Keh.com is listing used D80 bodies for $525 and $540. Other eBay sales have been less than $600 with a cheap lens. (Keh.com is reputable, but you would not want to pay more than whatever they are charging!)

They have a "bargain" 70-300mm for $126. I would expect a used lens in excellent condition to go for maybe $150 or so, at most. (Be aware the model with VR is a much better lens, and costs significantly more too. Don't confuse the two.)

There have been a lot of 28-80mm Nikkors sold on eBay for less than $50. Actually, the Nikon 4004 with both the 28-80 and the 200mm Quantaray would probably be worth $60-70. I'd probably keep the 28-80mm, and toss the 4004 and the 200mm in the trash.

The 50mm is probably an f/1.8, which is a very inexpensive lense but a very good lens too. It's something like $125 new. If that happens to be an f/1.4 lens, it's worth another $150 or so.

The bottom line, obviously, is that the $720 figure was pretty close to the maximum it would be worth without the 50mm lens, and $800 would clearly be tops with it.

And no warranty, right?
Prices for new equipment dropped since the new Canon and Nikon models came out.
Shop for good deal on new gear!

this is a private sale not an ebay deal. after speaking with the women...she bought it brand new and has not been able to figure out how to use it!! still has the receipts and less than 100 actuation's. I will check that when I see the set up today.
I don't want the 4004s at all it is just a throw in according to her. I will pass that along to someone real cheap.
thanks for the info. I think I am going to buy it as it is a private sale I have checked out references. I am willing to pay a bit more and not have the hassle of an ebay sale.
