I don't want the 4004s at all it is just a throw in according to her. I will pass that along to someone real cheap.
thanks for the info. I think I am going to buy it as it is a private sale I have checked out references. I am willing to pay a bit more and not have the hassle of an ebay sale.
Given the ability to inspect it, the virtually new condition, the safety and low cost of no shipping... that isn't a "steal", but it is certainly a fair deal!

There is no comparison between the two camera bodies..

The D80 is Nikon's entry-level camera body (cheap) and is not a metal body....its composite plastic....and the body itself is small

And....a D80, with 2.5 inch LCD screen, is a 2004 camera, older technology at this point, whereas the D90 ,with 3 inch high-resolution LCD screen, is a 2008/09 camera body with 24fps HD video capability also.

Probably the best place on the net to read camera reviews is called Steve's Digicams...second would be Kenrockwell.com

Steve's Digicams - Main Menu

Steves Digicams - Nikon D80 SLR User Review

Nikon D90 at Steve's...

Steves Digicams - Nikon D90 - Hands on Review

Find yourself a good low shutter actuations D200 or D300....much better Nikon camera

True. The price tag shows the difference too. At keh.com the D80 goes for $539 and the D90 goes for $729.

Everyone has to make their own decision on where to draw the line on how much to spend.

To you! But everyone is different.

I personally have no interest in low end or even medium range cameras. I have D1, D2x and D3 bodies, and I work the crap out of the differences between a D2x and a D3 (and that goes both ways, as the D2x has the advantage in a few respects). I would be nothing but frustrated with a D90.

They want $665 to $890 for a D200, and $1375 for a D300. They've got the D700 for $2300 and the D3 for $3800. All are used prices.

That's April Bowl above Hatcher Pass. It's looking out toward the Sustina Valley.
