It doesnt matter what Switzerland,Canada,Mexico, or any other country does for their "socialized" medicine programs, it wouldnt be ANYTHING like that in the USA, if it ever even happens, and, no one here can predict or even hypothesize what that might look like here..

and, in case you didnt know, people over 65 PAY for their Medicare, its not "free" in any way, shape, or form..
I am on medicare, the total cost is a little over $100 a month and a supplement for $350 a month that is reimbursed by my former employer. As far as it being free? That is not something that I ever claimed

so, you are paying 450 per month for "socialized" medicine....hardly free...

the problem here is that until a quantum change occurs in the USA, and health care stops being a profit center for the giant drug/insurance/healthcare companies, none of this will ever improve...and, as I said before, as long as those corporations keep sending cash to our scumbag politicians, they will never force any changes on them..

The topic of this discussion changed from personal liberties and gov't intrusion to the health care system of the US.

All I can say is, why can't health care providers be required to post their stinkin' prices, just like everyone else has to do? The guy who paid $800 for an x-ray could have "shopped around" for a lower price.

When I go see a doctor, for example, I have no idea what kind of bill I'm going to get in the mail (my deductible is 7K). Plain wrong.

agree Doug, healthcare is one of the few industries in the world where they dont tell you what their prices are if you ask, and, they charge you based on whether they are going to *********, or your insurance provider..

here again, thank the politicians that we keep re electing...

and, no more OT for me in this thread..

I never said that there are no costs associated with socialized medicine, did I?

$450 with no copays or deductibles, complete coverage with a huge list of providers and you think that's a bad deal?

nope, not at all, that is a good deal for sure..

my Obamacare premium, for horrible coverage, for MYSELF, is 1100 per month, with giant co pays and deductibles, which is a complete rip off, considering I was paying 400 per month BEFORE Obama care, for a FAMILY of 3, great coverage, no deductible, and 10 dollar co pays...Obamacare has been a curse for me and many friends of mine..

I usually keep political discussions out when it comes to ones relevant to Arizona and Phoenix, but I agree, California's liberal politicians and voters created a mess in the state and as a result, they're leaving the state in droves. As a native Arizonan, I encourage liberal Californians to stay there, we don't need your mess here.

Yes, Obamacare is a complete ripoff. Socialism doesn't work. My premium is about the same. Was much cheaper beforehand. There is no such thing as free medical care.
