I think Jakarta definitely wins over the PREMIUM LUXURY MARKET. Manila is no competition. It has an even smaller luxury market than Kuala Lumpur. Jakarta is only in competition with Singapore and probably Bangkok.

Any source or just blind ignorant statement? those doesn't make anything in Manila any better than Bangkok.

This again? does Manila even do anything about it? i assume not:

Jakarta hides behind the wings of Garuda | News item | Government.nl

The future is brighter for Jakarta, while Manila will sunk into the deep sea if it does nothing.

And do you even know how many volcanoes are there in Java that makes it quiet dangerous location? ohh and there are more risk to typhoon to Manila other than the earthquake.
Humbly here is the answer to that flood issue.

Hi there,

I don't think so, BPO expats and people would cover that grey spot you are talking about.

What about Fil Ams who visit the Ph on a average of 2x a yr? Those were BOLDS numbers so to speak, people who are earning USD 4000 a month in the states or even higher.

But yes Bangkok is Bangkok but definitely M.M. will surface very soon with this treading.

TRY THIS, A review from American site about 10 best shopping destination in whole ASIA as of 3rd q of 2014, Metro Manila in Spot number 10, while Jakarta metropolis is none in the best 10.

It would be good if the Philippines would also have Swedish stores Ikea & H&M and Irish store Primark. Affordable but good items.

Yes friend we got those, in a competitive prices I guess.

here are sites:
Men | Jackets & Coats | H&M PH

https://www.facebook.com/IkeaShopManila

Though I guess local furniture makers here are a lot like: Global Designer Kenneth Cobonpue of Cebu who once supplied Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's furniture, and Hollywoods furniture supplier would give IKEA a run for their money

here is kenneth site:

yes i did. probably you have more store branches but almost of those brands we got here as well.

also Let me ask about casinos? How about there?

these people are the also the bulk buyers of those brands you referred to..

casinos are booming in m. manila, as those tycoon gamblers envisioned Bay area of M.Manila to be next to macau.
