A big power doesn't mind being hated. You think America and the UK before that were not widely hated? How much is the hatred from small countries worth? Zilch.
There are many countries that hate China, both big and small. That is hardly news.

"The sole purpose of condemnation and the Hague rulings is for US to get involved in a war with China in the SCS with Philippine invitation".

Wrong, neither the United States or China want a war at this time. What would be the point? The United States already has its hands full and the Chinese do not want to loose one of their best customers. As for the Philippines, they do want help but they also do not want to be the main battleground for WW3.

" The last war in the region was Vietnam war. That was unfinished".

Well both Vietnam and the United States regard the last war as finished.

I don't think the Chinese, nor China are "hated" by anyone. I think you need to be very clear on the difference. If you mean China as the government, I still don't think the Communist Party is hated, only perhaps by some very liberal minded Westerners who hate the Chinese Communist party simply because it's communist/socialist background, and that it's not a democracy.

In order to make comments on China's political landscape, I think Westerner's need to truly understand China and it's people. I don't favor the Communist party most of the time, but do you really think Chinese people are educated and knowledgeable enough to vote in an election? I can't even get a Chinese person to successfully participate in our apartment complex condo board here in China without once elected, becoming corrupt. Look at villages that have elected village leaders. They all become corrupt and some if they have access, run away with funds. China is not ready for Democracy, sorry.

America has policies that many non-Americans hate (Israel), as does China, but I honestly don't think people "Hate" American's because of their governments policies. The same goes for China.

And if you feel Koreans, Japanese, Taiwanese, Filipino's or other Asians have the right to hate Chinese Mainlanders simply because they've seen a handful of uneducated Chinese tourists visit their country and spit where they shouldn't, or do something inappropriate, when then that's called stereotyping. It doesn't represent ALL Chinese. I've seen bad behavior in all areas (rudeness, stealing, buying prostitutes & other immoral activity) while living hear in Asia from all different groups of people. I think at times we forget to look ourselves in the mirror as we're all not perfect.

Same goes for the US, France, Russia, Japan, Iran, India. You think the US is not hated by Latin America and Middle East?

Great Powers are disliked/hated. It isn't anything new and isn't something Great Powers should care about. If China wants to be liked by all; it has to relinquish Tibet, Xinjiang, Taiwan, Manchuria, Inner Mongolia, and the South China Sea. It also has to become a confederal democracy, open up its market to all companies around the world with no restrictions, put Westerners first and give all Westerners extraterritorial rights, agree to put American military bases all over the country, and completely disband its entire military and put America in charge. Only then will China be liked.

I think when a country is hated by other countries, big and small, it usually means that the country has arrived or re-emerged as a great power. It should be seen as a sort of underhanded affirmation. The US is hated and protested against in many parts of the world, and it's a superpower. Japan is well loved today simply because it's seen as a harmless and castrated state. It has no foreign policy of its own, and it's completely harmless, though the Chinese me the Koreans know better due to historical reasons.

Those countries with lots of ethnic Chinese generally have these ethnic Chinese controlling or dominating their commerce and economy. So the natives of these countries who are generally poor have a certain degree of resentment and jealousy built up and these sentiments are easily manipulated. If riots against the Chinese happens again, China now has the hardware to punish those countries directly. This is why many ethnic Chinese are quietly in favor of China's rise.

I'm pretty sure that Americans (people not politicians) don't have such an angry outlook of the Chinese nor does most of the western nations (Europe).
Nope China is very disliked at this moment just listen to Trump's anti-China rhetoric it rings true with a large swath of Americans currently. China is the new Russia.

Sorry, I should have clarified.. I meant to say Chinese people are not hated by many in the west. The government and it's policies are though.

Regionally (SE Asia) I would say that the dislike of both is prevalent due to the news media and what they've seen from a percentage of tourists.
