Lies.

Atlanta is NOT an international destination. I know this for fact. It's 7th for dom/int visitors, but not for int. visitors only.

Yes of course you know better than Smith Research Group, that was hired by Forbes to gather the data. Sorry the research flies in the face of your teeny tiny worldview.

Trade.gov does not put Atlanta in the top 10.

Who's more right? Smith Research Group or the actual government who can pull up more data? Huh? Atlanta is tied for 12th with Houston. This lists seem much more correct then having Atlanta at number 7.

http://www.census.gov/compendia/stat...es/12s1261.pdf

Also does not put Atlanta in the top 10. Both are from the government.

Anyone who really believes Atlanta is #7 for an int'l destination is an airhead. I can quickly think of 10 cities foreign travelers would rather travel to.

Maybe it's not me who has the tiny worldview. I've actually been out of the South and this country many times. Sometimes, Atlanta boosters crack me up. All you do is prove the southern stereotypes.

Are we really going to have an Atlanta vs. France thread? Now I've seen everything

Creative Loafing is rage baiting with that headline. The Ministry didn't say to stay clear of downtown at night, they just said to be vigilant. I sure hope no one disagrees with that advice.

It's all relative anyway. The US is quite a bit more dangerous than anywhere in Western Europe. You probably think that's funny, but if you had grown up somewhere where the murder rate is 80% lower you'd probably have a different perspective. They see us much like we see places like South Africa or Central America. It doesn't help that Atlanta's violent crime rate is high even by US standards.

Overall that is true but there are some cities in Europe that are more dangerous than anywhere in the U.S.
As I mentioned earlier, many of those are in suburban Paris and some of its smaller cities.
England has some in Liverpool as well.

If I had friends who were visiting from France and they were thinking about walking around downtown at night, I would caution them.
