My honey just moved to GA with me, and he greatly misses Roberto's and other -erto's style restaurants. Especially the carne asada french fries.

Anything like that here?

I lived in LA and visited San Diego but, unfortunately, I've never been to Roberto's or any other -ertos (as you put it ). I've heard No Mas in Castleberry Hills is good and I've been to Uncle Julios on Peachtree. I will not go back to Uncle Julios. It was way average and I found out while there and asking about the menu that tons of things are cooked in pork. Yuck. This is 2014 so I was completely shocked. It was disappointing.

I don't live in the city of atlanta per se but from what I gather your best bet maybe to try one of the non-chain Mexican cuisine restaurants. They are usually slow to moderately busy in terms of customers and generally appear to be "mom-n-pop" type establishments. Also, they may have names like: 'Los Amigos' or 'Tres amigos restaurante' or something to that affect.

When you find it, please let me know, cause I feel his pain!!!

OH, HOW I miss San Diego!!! NOT that I don't love my ATL, but I sure did LOVE living in San Diego...

I miss Lolita's, I miss Roberto's, but MOST OF ALL, I miss Cotixans!!!
I know, I know... That was fast food. BUT I don't care what anybody says, It was !@#%$ good!!! Maybe not so good to my stomach, but I loved that place.

I wish they would open Cotixans out here in Atlanta...

Can you elaborate on what type of dishes you are looking for? I've been to California, but I never tried Mexican there.

It's more a style of preparation than a specific set of dishes on the menu... Carne asada fries stands out though... fresh pico de gallo, carne asada, guacamole, all on top of string fries ...

It's seems like the carne asada is prepped differently, at least at Roberto's it;s marinated and soft but finely chopped. (Not strips)
