Yup. The beats are terrible...just absolutely terrible. Completely uninspired, simplistic and hollow. While Lil Jon and Ludacris were hollow, at least it was fun party music with a decent beat.

Funny how Atlanta is responsible for my favorite and least favorite rap simultaneously.

Nice work, demon!

That shamisen sound is cool.

I'm a closet metalhead, so take my opinion for what it's worth, but I have a soft spot for "snap" music.

I can hear the roar coming from Chicago.

Trap music, especially the trap music since around 2009 or so is only good for the car and clubs. The beats slap but that's it. If you wanted lyricism, do not turn on that. It's this generation form of club music which has been here all along. It was just different in the 90s where you had bass, booty shaking, or bounce if you in New Orleans. But you also had far more versatility and balance during that era. You don't see that nowadays. All of the music is the same.

I really do miss the different sounds of the South of the late 90s and early 2000s. Each city had something different. Some lyrical, some not. Now.....it's all the same.

Back in my day, people really knew how to complain about music they didn't like. Nowadays, when people complain about music, they all sound the same.

Seriously, this sounds like a bunch of old people complaining badly about what those darn kids are listening to.

Not everybody in the 80s liked 2 Live Crew and Slick Rick and people like that. At least nowadays all people do is complain about what they don't like...2 Live Crew had to actually defend what they did in court. So it's not like they were the holy grail when they were out.

In 20 years, there will be some new music and all of today's young people will say it's nowhere near as good as today's trap music.

I don't mind trap because it's a lot better than dubstep, and it borrows heavily from EDM and is danceable. It has groove, and that's most of what I care about in music.

I'm pretty disappointed that everybody has let this statement go:

I don't feel, at least I hope I don't need to feel, like I have to point out how racist and pathetic it is on so many levels. Shame on this poster!

Repetitive garbage for the most part. Every now and then I may hear a beat that grabs my attention. It's not really an "Atlanta" thing now though. "Trap Beats" are used by the entire industry. Chicago's Drill Music is an entire sub-genre that's basically a parody version of Flocka's music. You hear NY, Cali and rappers from All over using trap beats now.

IMO It progressed this way.

Memphis created crunk, then ATL popularized it. ATL Crunk (Pastor Troy, Baby D, Lil Jon, etc.), then morphed into the first wave of ATL/Southern Trap Music came out (Old Jeezy, Old Gucci, Shawty Redd Production, etc.) then a second wave of ATL/Southern Trap Music came out (Later Gucci, Brick Squad, Flocka, Migos, etc) now everybody is into that 2nd Wave of Trap Music. 808 Mafia/Lex Luger style production.

Everybody uses beats like this now, it used to only be a southern thing.

It's all just different versions of old 3 6 Memphis Crunk. That beat I just posted sounds just like DJ Paul's beats.

Man you said it. I just downloaded some old Z-Ro and Trae yesterday. I love Houston's old sound. I never believed I would see the day when Houston (Guy with the "Flicka Da Wrist" song and some guys called Sauce Factory) would have music that sounds like ATL's. Everything is the same now.

You cant compare Luda to Lil Jon, Crunk, or Trap. I wouldn't consider Luda a "crunk" artist from back in the day, nor would would I compare him to the "Trap" music of day.

While Luda has party music, he also has songs that have topics besides partying and he can actually flow with punch lines. He has some some nice freestyles. He's definitely not a Lil Jon (producer who just chants) or like today trap music. I'm not saying he's among the best but he's a decent artist as far as flow and song topics.

Nice little flow

Song with a topic other than partying, and this is in recent years
