Of course. MS was a phenomenon and the best paid athlete by far here in Europe ten years ago. Even my mother know who Schumi is. No, I do not live in Germany or a German speaking country.

Its obvious Lewis has grown up listening to him. It after all is a team sport and he is right you win and lose together. It doesn't matter like or not; Schumacher has seven titles and in time most others will be forgotten. That is what Lewis and Vettel realize the most and what they seek. All the rest is just noise of the moment.

Alonso and Button (qualified 15th and 17th, respectively) have a 25 place penalty for changing engine and gearbox - that is ridiculous. The proposal is to start them from the pits (or the last spot, it wasn't clear to me which) AND assess a time penalty during the race. Button's tally: ten for a sixth turbo, five for a fifth ICE, another five for a sixth MGU-H and finally a further five for using a fifth MGU-K. Pretty much the same for Alonso.

Likewise the Red Bull cars have 10 spot penalties - Kyvat will go from 8th to 18th, Ricciardo from 14th to 20th (last) plus a time penalty.

Put them at the back of the pack and be done with it and then fine the heck out of the teams.

Hey, this will mean the Marussia/Manor cars will start higher than they ever have .....

That was really weird. Have to say I still do not like this current car. It looks bad to my eye.

British Grand Prix was entertaining this week. Lots of strategy calls.

Exactly;it is not near what it was post WWII. Its a big tech war and a few talented drivers get those rides as always. Those sponsoring want something for their money its so expensive now and many have opted for endurance prototype racing as better investment overall.

IF drivers are secondary, how is it Alonso outscored Raikkonen 161-55 last season as well as other lopsided scores between drivers in equal equipment?

F1 has setup is a car makers championship. often that has meant one driver and a so so team mate winning that. But more and more we see teams hiring two top driver now. Alonso is ole school there; he has reputation for insisting on being #1 and with that goes building and changing car to suit his driving style. He has a history of team mate conflict in that regard. So now do you explain Kemi doing so much better this season and certainly the team suddenly. I think Ferrari decided to change and Alanso just wa nots the driver for that; plain and simple. Its said that Lewis was not too happy at first having equal billing on team but he seems to see it driving him to do better which is what teams have seen over last few years. Certainly no doubt Vettel has always had reputation of beat if you can which has changed the teams looking at drivers differently:IMO. Vettel has changed F1 in that regard. Ferrari has changed from we deserve to be champion; to we have to go get it; IMO. The fact that Williams has on basis of just engine becomes competitive shows what equipment means I f1 and Mercedes has to make mistakes to lose. How many championships did Alonso lead Ferrari to after Schumacher left? Nothing else matters.

"Tributes poured in for French driver Jules Bianchi, who died from injuries sustained in a head-on crash during the Japanese Grand Prix last October." Tributes pour in for French Formula 1 driver Bianchi

I remember the crash but didn't realize know he was still hospitalized:
