... and we're back this weekend, with Spa up next!
Hmmm, the mid-season break seemed to consist mostly of headlines from the pro- and anti-Hamilton camp as he went around enjoying his summer break. OMG apparently Lewis likes to party expensively. Wow, we have never seen that in other F1 drivers, not ever.....
Also the bizarre story about Jensen Button being robbed, Jensen and company insisting someone put an anesthetic gas in the air vents. Hmmm, how does that work, exactly? How do you gas an entire house full of people? I don't think the pharma company's dosage table reflect that.
Apparently McLaren Honda had to change engine, transmission and MGuK for both drivers, resulting in a combined - wait for it - 55 place penalty. Lol.
Fortunately the altered the rules 2 races ago and the worst they can do is put them in last place. And then if anyone gets penalties, they have to start adding up - Button's penalty is 25 places, Alonso's 30. So if Alonso, theoretically, qualified first, he'd go back 19 places to 20th, leaving him with 11 left-over penalty points. If Button qualified 5th, he would also go back to 20th. So then they would have to compare penalty points - Alonso would have 11 left, Button would have 10, hence Button would start ahead of Alonso, even though Alonso qualified 1st.

And so we have another boring F1 season as per Ferrari years ago and Red Bull more recently. The team with the most bucks wins. The only thing this season proves is that Hamilton is minutely faster then Rosberg. Much fun in a series where at the most 3 teams have chances of winning races and or a championship.

From what I read Red Bull's budget was no where near that of Ferrari's when they were winning consecutive titles. McLaren/Honda certainly doesn't lack for $$$ and what have they done this year? Those cases plus the well financed Toyota F1 Team's dismal record says bucks don't guarantee the success.
I'd still rather see a team that does a better job than the others dominate rather than lame ass attempts at equalizing the field by rulebook. F1 is supposed to be cutting edge, there are plenty of spec car series for those who don't want to innovate.
