so spencer gallagher gets his first xfinity series win at talledega, holding off the field in overtime after guys like allgaier and cindric ran out of gas. allgaier ran out on the caution and cindric ran out on the final restart. allgaier ended up third, while cindric finished 30th.

Those teams really rolled the dice there. It seemed fairly certain they weren't going to make it to the end. But probably worth the chance for a win. No 'big one' and at one point the field was spread out. That's different.

I enjoyed the drivers only telecast. All those guys do a good job.

With 20 laps to go at Talladega, I think Dillon’s going to need a bigger plow if he wants to win this one.

i kept thinking the cindric had probably the fastest car in the race, and he probably should have gone in for two tires and gas about two cautions before, and he would have had plenty of time to get back up front. but i also think they called it that if the race had gone the origianl distance he was going to be up front, but overtime would have been dicey for them, and it was.

And then runs afoul of the substance abuse policy.

Wow.

Kinda my reaction as well. But.. Yep.

Spencer Gallagher suspended by NASCAR

Supposedly failed on May 1.. Whether that's just when the test came back, or if he celebrated his victory in a way he shouldn't have.. Not sure. But.. I think that certainly was a targeted test.. So, I'd say that it was most likely that he had a little too much fun after the win, someone saw him and he got tested.

He did man up about it. Admitted it, agreed to the Road to Recovery program, put out a very contrite statement.

Will be interesting to see if he keeps his ride. GMS put out a statement that is pretty harsh, but they didn't mention him being released and speak of a "Substitute driver"

As the article said, he will not be given a waiver for the championship, and since he has to attempt to qualify for each race.. That takes him out of the Xfinity championship picture.
