Honda Fit and HR-V are built in Celaya, Mexico.
KIA Forte is built in Monterrey, Mexico. Hyundai Accent and KIA Rio are moving there next year.
Toyota Tacoma has been made in Tijuana, Mexico for many years.
What Ford is doing is they're moving almost all of their car production out of the U.S. But it's not going to cause job losses.
The workers who used to build low margin cars are going to build higher margin products instead.
The only Cadillac that is not made in the U.S. or Canada is the extremely low volume CT6 PHEV.
The few hundred that will be imported will be made in China.
The vast majority of CT6's are made in Detroit.
ATS and CTS are made in Lansing, MI.
Escalades are made in Arlington, TX.
The XTS is made in Oshawa, Canada.
Production of their top seller, the XT5 CUV has returned to the U.S.
It's being built in the former Saturn plant in Spring Hill, TN. SRX's were built in Mexico.
Among luxury brands, Cadillac has by far the greatest percentage of it's products built here (U.S./Canada).
You can also add Nissan as a major manufacturer in Mexico.
The Sentra and the Versa are built there.
VW has been there for years, too. The Jetta, Beetle and Golf are all built there.

Yes, I have looked out the window. In fact, I study this on a regular basis. See below for comparison with F 150 truck sales. If trucks are three times more popular than their small car offered in the US, AND the trucks have a profit margin in the 2x range as well, AND Ford can save on shipping costs AND save on import/export tariffs to S America where the Focus is still selling really well... it all makes sense.

What does the F-150 have to do with the Focus, or anything else we are talking about? The point is Ford is shipping back the Focus with virtually no added tax at the border. The same car made in the US is slapped with 30% tariff when exported to Mexico. People claim there is gonna be WW3 if Trump goes ahead with his tariff plan yet Mexico has been doing it and trade is flourishing. BTW, I googled the topic and our very own CD came up. That's not true, the Focus is selling but the profit margins are not as high as a truck or SUV. They don't want US assembly lines full of over priced union workers building a car that has low margins. However it's all part of the grand scheme of moving jobs out to cheaper places. Nothing new, the local state will stand to lose the most.

And the Cummins engine itself is globally sourced too. The engine block is from either Mexico or Brazil. Most if not all of the gears, pulleys and machined parts are from India, China or Mexico.
People "puff up" and think they are "buying American" when they get a Cummins engine. Cummins only "assembles" engines.....it doesn't make them.

I didn't know that. I assumed they were US made. I guess they are no different then a Duramax. Still would rather have the Cummins.
Smaller cars can be made more profitably, shipped more efficiently, and avoid some of the tariff penalties by being produced in Mexico. The larger trucks can be competitively made in the market where they will be sold, reducing shipping costs of the larger vehicles and avoiding import taxes on what we want to sell here anyway. Business 101. No jobs lost in these moves, this time.
A multibillion-dollar plant is built in Mexico and no jobs lost here? What about the jobs that were not created? The only reason you would look at it this way is if you don't care about the unemployed.
