I would think it will be Gasol and Dirk matched up primarily???
Not likely. Dirk's game is perimeter-based, if the Lakers put Gasol on him that would take him out of the painted area, which LA doesn't want. Artest will be physical with him, which is the best way to defend Dirk.
Los Angeles is thoroughly beatable. But I don't think that Dallas has the mental toughness to do the job. This Maverick team is chock full of career playoff chokers lead by the top choker himself Dirk Nowitzki. If Dallas gets a game in this series I will be totally surprised. Dallas' legacy of spectacular playoff failures will only continue in this series.
I need someone to educate me, as I'm not well versed on how the NBA playoff seedings work. If Memphis knocks off the Spurs tonight, or in a Game 7, why would the Lakers not be playing Memphis instead of Dallas?
Doesn't the highest seed always play the lowest seed in the playoffs?

The winner of the #2 seed vs #7 seed always faces the winner of the #3 seed vs #6 seed.
Lakers are the #2 seed and the Mavs are the #3 seed
