The Hawks have a tough 4 game stretch coming up @NO, the Wiz, Warriors, @Mem. I fully expect us to drop some games with some players out. This is good because our bench guys will be tested.
I would have been so disappointed in the Hawks if their 18 game winning streak was snapped by the 9-38 sixers
They were actually 10-37 as the night started. They had nice winning streak going themselves.
They been playing well for some reason out of the blue which was not the case in November and December. That's why on the night of Thanksgiving a lot of people thought the Eagles would finish with more wins than the sixers because at that time it looked like they would only win 5 games . lol
Bulls are still not 100% healthy and are tinkering with line-ups. (They started Tony Snell last night, Mirotic the night before)
Just two weeks ago people were thinking Cleveland was falling apart and now they are on a nice run.
*shrug*
It we were 70+games into the season I would agree with you.
They snapped GS's home win streak the other night so I try not to get too up or too down over regular season games etc.
And they won't be 100% healthy during the season. I don't see the NBA like MLB where there are so many games that you can afford to rest guys. However, with the all star weekend coming up, I think a lot of Bulls players can get some rest.
It also seems like their defense has been really lacking this season.
I still wouldn't trust the health of Rose, either.
The Knicks/Lakers game actually could have came on ESPN today since it was that huge gap between 2pm and 6:30pm. I mean it's not like it was the Sixers vs the Bobcats so not sure ESPN had to cancel the game this afternoon.

We'll see. Seeding matters a whole lot less than being healthy and rested when the playoffs roll around.
I'd rather lose some winnable games if that's the price to pay for resting guys.
I agree with Mathguy. I think it depends where Toronto/Washington/Chicago/Cleveland end up and if any them play each other in round 1.
Mathguy already touched on the Cavs/Bulls, both of whom are a bad matchup (healthy & playing well) for the Hawks. The Raptors are a bad matchup for them also. I belive that's the only team Atlanta has lost to more than once this season, though both losses were in the early part of the year when they weren't playing so well, so take that for what it's worth.
IMO, best chance for the Hawks to make the ECF is having the Cavs/Bulls finish 2 & 3, and having the Raps & Wizards 4 & 5. Raps & Wizards play twice coming up here before the All Star Break so we'll see how they stack up with Beal back in the lineup. I think the Wiz can beat the Raps in a 7 game series and of those top Eastern teams: Cavs, Bulls, & Wizards & Raps, I think the Hawks best chance of advancing is playing the Wizards. Lots of basketball left and things can change in a week.
They weren't playing well in part because Al Horford was very rusty after playing a full schedule for the first time after his pectoral injury from last year. They just beat Toronto a couple of weeks ago. I'm not too sure if they are any worse of a match up than the other teams. We will see.
Kinda makes me wonder about them and golden state in the playoffs.
Nothing negative, it's just that the 3pointer adds a lot of volatility to games and in a 7 game series it can be a big deal.
Dallas blasting Miami in the finals would be one example.
Another would be the last year Horry played for the Lakers and pretty much sucked so bad the Lakers lost the series (I think that was to San Antonio?) He shot something like 3 of 30 give or take that series from the arc
The Hawks are too inexperienced at the coaching level along with most of the players to beat the Cavs, Bulls, or Wizards in a 7 game series. They will win the first round but that is all they will accomplish because they don't have a go to player late in the game. And Korver is one-dimensional and won't get open three's in a 7 game playoff series,

The Cavs or Bulls will be in the Finals.
Yes, the defense seems to ratchet down much tighter in the playoffs.
If the Cavs play the Bulls in the first round, the Bulls will be going home early, IMO. That is unless Chicago can get healthy but I doubt that will happen as the season winds down and if the standings are close, they'll be fighting for home court and end up playing their starters more and more.
Whoever comes out of the east might last 5 games against whoever comes out of the west.
Yahoo Sports is a joke but they ranked the Cavs #6 in their latest power rankings. What a joke!
