The ironic part is that the Southern California Deserts would not go dry. The water comes in from the Colorado River, so by separating coastal California (San Diego, OC, LA) from areas to the east...would be shooting themselves in the foot. There is currently a water tranfer agreement for San Diego from Imperial County. The farmers get priority and cheap water as it come through there first. Then San Diego gets left overs. The result is a very green desert wherever it is populated. People have large shade trees, green lawns...while people in the coastal areas have to conserve what little what they get. It is ironic...but whoever is closer to the water sources wins and people farthur away lose (LA, SD, OC).

I could make Sacramento into a district, similar to Washington DC. Bay Area and the Central Coast into another state. Southern California would include LA to SD, Inland Empire, the Desert). Northern California would be everything north of Sacramento. Everything south of Sacramento ( Stockton, Modesto, Fresno, Bakersfield and even Yosemite) would be Central California.

Ah, so we ignore the point mostly and figure out nuts' grammatically correct form. Wonderful.

Wake up! You speak of rending a state from the Union! You cannot just up and create a new state! This is forever California: from Sacramento to SF to SB to LA to SD.
We are strong as we are now.
