How does a survey of less than 3,000 qualify as significant data?

Also, the article has numerous links and references to other data sets. you just need to want to read them.

For example:

The 2021 UC San Diego poll also found that affluent Californians are the group most satisfied with the direction of the state and very likely to believe that it will be a better place when today’s children grow up. This aligns with research into migration patterns of California’s millionaires conducted by project partners at Stanford University and Cornell University. The analysis of nearly two decades of Franchise Tax Board data by Charles Varner and Cristobal Young demonstrated there has been no flight of millionaires away from California despite multiple tax increases levied on higher earners in recent years.

Well As long as the millionaires are happy.....

"Middle-class Californians making incomes between $50,000 and $100,000 are the most concerned about the state of California today as well as its future. "

It seems like 50k is not enough to be considered middle class in most of CA (applies also to Oregon and Washington now). Considering median family income as middle class in a city, San Francisco is $135,968, even Sacramento is $92,148.

I don't care about millionaires. My paragraph was used as an example of the article referring to other data sets. Context matters.

For individuals/households it probably is in most of the state.

So, how did Ca. lose a house seat? the only way to lose one is to have a drop in population.

That's not true, it just grew slower than the nation as a whole and other states.
