Joni Mitchell isn't from California, she's not even American, rather she's Canadian from a tiny town in
Alberta, but she loved California as just about everyone did back then.

Oh, but they do. And in Orange County. That's what made these skits so funny; they're spot on for many southern Californians. Go to any party or family gathering or meeting for which one needs to drive freeways, and that's the first thing people talk about. Wiig's completely off topic comment--and her marbles-in-the-mouth type of speaking--"At this time of day? It's gonna be jammed!" says it all.

In the skits, there is insufficient repetition of "100 percent", "totally", "right on", and the ever-ubiquitous "like". Lest it be asserted that such phrases are relics from the 1980s, the young people at our workplace would be unable to speak, without these throwaway words.
