The last place I'm looking to live is a place with an abundance of "hard drugs". All I'm interested in is good people with good kids to play with my daughter. I believe that it takes a mountain, a river, and a village to raise a child, problem is, I'm having trouble locating an area that I could consider "my Utopia". To my daughter I'm not just a father, I'm also an acting Shaman. My dream is to have my daughter be able to walk out our front door and see, not just a mountain, but a mountain of high spirits and good people. Once I'm able to say that she is in a better place, I'll feel that much better about bringing her into this, dark and racist world that our Mother Earth has turned into. So, if you have any suggestions, PLEASE, feel free to let me know.

The last place I am looking to migrate my family to, is a place known for the amount of "hard drugs" it harbors. I believe that it takes a mountain, a river, and a village to raise a child, problem is, i'm unable to locate my "Utopia". My daughter deserves a better life than what can be provided to her in Cincinnati. To many stuck up yuppies who'd rather spit on you, than respect you for being a free spirit. I want my daughter to be able to look out her front and see a mountain, not just of rock, but of good people with beautiful thoughts. If anyone is able to point me in the right direction, I would much appreciate the insight. Love you Mother Earth, don't exploit it. That's how my daughter will be raised.

Electric is cheaper, but sometimes goes out in the winter. Not often though. Some of the cheaper cottages and apartments don't have much insulation .... I don't know if you're renting or buying. Most of the cheap rentals I've been in, had baseboard heaters without real thermostats.

Mt Shasta City is where they keep the shamans, Lemurians, wizards, I AMers, and other assorted New Age folks. They also have a lake, a sentient hollow mountain, UFOs, a river, springs, and forests.

Say hi to Mary Ma McChrist for me if you end up there!

Thanks for the input, it definently helped. Does anyone know of any other "Hippie Havens", west of the rockies, or in the middle of them. Good people are hard to come by, you know, few and far between. I've heard rumors of places that still harness the free spirit with full force.

Thanks again, I've centralized my research to Boulder, Co. I have a lot of great feedback from some of the locals. I'm pleased to hear, yet again, that Boulder is on another list of "Hippie Havens". Have you been there?? Are you listing Boulder out of experience or from hear say. Like I said I've heard a lot of good things about Boulder, myself. Just want to make sure it is all it is cracked up to be, before I make a trip to get the ball rolling.

Mt. Shasta is close to Redding and the county of Mt. Shasta generally better and has more shopping and things to do than weed and Eureka area. go for mt. shasta.

Default Mt. Shasta City a good choice

Mt. Shasta City is definitely more comfortable for "hippie" types. Weed is more blue-collar conservative. However, Weed has the postcard views of Mt. Shasta (the mountain)--perhaps land outside of Weed is what you are looking for. Both towns, incidentally, are in Sikiyou County (pronounced Sis-Q). Yreka (30 minutes north of Weed) is the county seat and largest town. Redding, about 90 minutes south in the flatlands, is much larger and located in Shasta County--which is confusing, because the mountain itself is in Siskiyou County.
