Good morning friends!
More of the same problems for DH and once again the prune juice didn't help so we may be going to Concord to see his doctor if things don't improve today. Not sure what started this all of a sudden but it seems like each day is something new. One more worry!
But we will get it figured out and work things out one day at a time.

Good morning, Cyn and friends. Hope you can see the doctor today if that's what is needed to help your sweetie. The sun is shining here and although it will not be very warm today it looks like a very pretty spring day!

I have been trying all morning to find out what to do and am waiting for a call back from his Doctor. We need to have him in good health for his upcoming surgery! Please say a prayer or keep positive thoughts and fingers crossed that we get this taken care of ASAP!

What a pain that would be, one more thing.... Hopefully your doc will call back and give you some ideas to find some relief...

Could be lack of movement, your DH not eating very well, neither of which he can help or do much about. I'm sure the doc will have some suggestions, as this is a problem that's pretty common among folks in similar boats, so to speak.

Fingers crossed, and positive thoughts and energy coming your way.... I'll send the sunshine along when we get some, it's raining right now, and forecast to do so all week. But at least it's in the 70's, I think.

Does als effect involuntary muscles like peristalsis of the colon the creates " the movemen tof the bowel" causing a Bowel Movement. I think I remember reading that it doesn't effect involuntary muscle movement.

It does elston. I realize what they say but they are finding out exceptions to all the rules daily sadly. If your muscles can't "push" you have a problem.
It "supposedly" doesn't effect your thinking either--it does......how could it not with what you go through?? They are ony in the infant stages of learning bout this disease even though it has been around for so many years---like most diseases--there is so much more money to be made by the disease itself the by any cure I doubt if a cure will be found any time soon. It's a very sad state of affairs when humans can rationalize this kind of thinking.......
